Hi, everyone, in response to the question: what is this group for.
This group is for the discussion of individualism, and it's variants
This group is for the discussion of all individualistic philosophies
ie: Objectivism, libertarianism, discordianism, and any others that
may exist. This group is also for the discussion of all political
issues dealing with individualism and individual rights.
WHAT THIS GROUP IS NOT FOR:
this group is not for insult-slinging or flamefests.
this group is an experiment in a new form of moderation, if the experiment
is successful, maybe we can get other groups to do it. The concept is
Voluntary Moderation - I am maintaining a mailing-list which will go to
this newsgroup, and those interested in the topic who are at sites that
do not recieve the alt. sub-culture. If you want your posting on the mailing
list, PLEASE do not post it, mail it to me, those who want the moderated
version of this newsgroup, can select which articles to read by the
From: and Path: lines, if the article is from orion@nuchat.UUCP, then
it will be gatewayed to the mailing list. Why the moderation attempt,
you ask? Those who have been reading the politics newsgroups for a while
know that one can hardly mention Ayn Rand, Objectivism, Libertarianism,
or a host of other individualistic topics without reciept of a host of flames
stateing something to the effect of: if you want freedom, go live on a
desert island :-). In other words, I plan on re-routing flames to their
proper place: alt.flame
RULES for the moderated version:
this is simple, 1) don't flame, 2) i will forward the first round of flames
recieved on a subject to the mailing list, and after that if the problem is
not reconciled, to alt.flame. 3) I will warn you and cross-post your message
to alt.flame in the first round of flamage, if you send back a good reason
why your flame is really not a flame, i'll keep it on the mailing list.
