A while back, I requested information on how to analyze parallel programs, I am still collecting this list and when it is complete, I will post it. However, now I am interested in papers related to methods and characteristics on programming algorithms for parallel machines. I have several on specific algorithms ( the usual sorting, matrix mult., etc. ) but I would rather look at papers that deal with more general issues such as load balancing, CPU utilization, decomposition, communication overhead, and how these and other issues are handled in algorithms. In fact, it would be interesting to know what other issues are relevant. It doesn't seem (from my knowledge at least ) that anyone has put together a listing of relevant problems and solutions to writing parallel programs. Any info on this subject would be helpful.
