Permit me to clarify something on the affore posted references to the Kartashev conference. 1) The annotations (The %X fields) are the anonymous opinions of any person who would like to contribute them (a few people). I will gladily add any such annotations to any citation (if I have that citation). They are not all mine. 2) Specific mention was made commenting about IBM postings. Many of these papers lacked real scientific content. They border on sales pitches. Let's save some reading time. Get the proceedings and see for yourself. I like IBM systems (I started computing on them) in a way. [No, no one at IBM put me up to this clarification and solicitation of annotations. Yes, IBM has a copy.] Give the Kartashevs some money for more copies of their Proceedings. 3) Many people have expressed to me, in private, their distain for the Kartashevs. There are many people (graduate students and colleagues in non computing disciplines) who are not aware of their reputation. To remain silent is potentially as harmful as the negative opinions I have heard about them. --eugene miya
