[comp.parallel] parallel ODE algorithms

fishwick@fish.cis.ufl.edu (Paul Fishwick) (08/09/89)

With regards to the question about parallel methods for ODE solution, I
would suggest getting a hold of Gear's paper entitled "The Potential
for Parallelism in Ordinary Differential Equations", Dept. of Comp.
Sci, Univ. of Illinois (Report # UIUCDCS-R-86-1246) which is very
nice introduction to the subject. Also you might want to get a copy
of the book "Parallel and Distributed Computation" by Bertsekas and
Tsitsiklis/ Prentice Hall 1989. I believe that books and papers by
Jim Ortega (U. of Virginia?) are relevant to your query. This will,
at least, provide a starting point for your research.
