SUMMIT MICROSYSTEMS ANNOUNCES A CONTENT ADDRESSABLE MEMORY (CAM)
DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM.

Summit Microsystems Corp. is proud to announce a content addressable
memory (CAM) development system consisting of a general purpose
CAM board and a comprehensive design support software package.
The development system is ideal for developing and benchmarking
CAM-based innovations and new product ideas.

CAM technology is ideal for applications that require pattern
recognition functions, such as address identification in local
area networks and file servers; searches and sorts in data base
management; pattern processing in machine vision, radar and
sonar; memory-based reasoning in AI and neural networks; and many
others.

Researchers and innovators have been fascinated with CAM for over
30 years. This is perhaps because of the functional similarities
between the CAM and the human brain. With the recent advances in
semiconductor technology, VLSI CAM devices are now commercially
available, allowing implementation of CAM-based systems.

Summit's new CAM development system consists of the SM4k-GPX
board and the CAM design support software package. The SM4k-GPX
is a low-cost PC/AT plug-in board, featuring up to 4,096 words of
48 bits CAM array, 100 ns compare time of any 48 bit input pattern
to all the stored words (simultaneously), and a dual bus
configuration - programmable access through the IBM PC/AT bus,
and direct access through a user-specific high-speed bus.
A special area on the board is provided for prototyping and
personalization. The board is expandable to 64K words by
daisy-chaining additional boards.

The comprehensive CAM design support software package is a menu
driven program and a set of functions, written in C that simplify
the user's interface to the various operations of the board.

Summit Microsystems Corporation is a leader in CAM technology,
developing and marketing general as well as customer-specific
CAM-based products.

Our introductory pricing of $995.00 for an SM4k-GPX board with
4,096 word CAM array will continue through October 15, 1989.
Pricing for orders placed after this date will be $1,375.00.

This brief announcement can not possibly list all of the benefits
and features of Summit's new CAM development system. For a
