[comp.parallel] parallel biblio update

eugene@wilbur.nas.nasa.gov (Eugene N. Miya) (08/21/90)

I have upgraded the parallel biblio to include last week's ICPP'90 and a
few other conferences and books I've seen. Just don't have the time or
money to add all the parallelism books at Comp. Lit.
For those institutions who have filed past requests:
"It's in the usual place, you know where to get it."

Please restrict FTP to late evening hours or weekends. I did not have much
time to scan (read) articles, so coverage of added keywords, acronyms,
abbreviations, and the like is limited. Other people's annotations or
corrections are appreciated. The scanner (electronic) has a tendency to
make 'ri' appear as 'm' and 'e' becomes 'c.' I've other work I should be
doing, so I can't place a lot of time into this.

I have upgraded the copy on 'crg' and I will be upgrading the Berkeley
copy shortly. For some reason, I can't get onto icase. The biblio has
past the 4 MB size (154K lines). The file is once again uncompressed
for non-Unix sites. Is that it? (for the sites where I have upgrade
responsibility?) When your site completes anonymous FTP upgrade, please
send me an email note. I will check off the letter heads for each email note.

I am planning to throw out all required and recommended readings and
start again from scratch this decade.
I will be repolling people again at the start of next year. If I asked
you in the past for references, I will probably ask you again (individually).

ICPP was particularly large because of the poster session papers. I do not
plan to post the Rpp90 file to comp.parallel because of sheer size.
There should not be any other major upgrades this year unless I get a hypercube
conference proceedings.

As always, send additional references, corrections, etc.
