The Profeel takes both RGB and NTSC input, allowing you to select between them or overlay the RGB on top of the NTSC. As is too often the case, the Sony people stopped just short of a truly usable product: the RGB inputs are TTL and not RS-170 video. They employ Schmidt triggers to ensure that the Red, Green, or Blue signals are either on or off, nothing in between. This means that if you want other than primary colors, you are out of luck. (Actually, there is another input that allows the computer to set half-intensity. I have seen the Profeel used with the IBM-PC. It required a simple circuit to invert the sync since SONY and IBM use opposite conventions.)
