[comp.parallel] parallel debugger biblio. - refer version

utter@uunet.UU.NET (Paula Sue Utter) (10/10/90)

The refer form of the update to the bibliography on parallel debuggers
is now available. Here are the names and descriptions of the three
compressed refer files.

debugger.rfr.Z Version 2.0 of the refer form of a bibliography
                     on parallel debuggers (revised 9-1-1990)

fix.rfr.Z Contains changes (as of 9-1-90) to Version 1.0
of the refer form of a bibliography on parallel
                     debuggers

new.rfr.Z Contains additions (as of 9-1-90) to Version
1.0 of the refer form of a bibliography on parallel
                     debuggers

When we were doing the update, we discovered that we were using the
wrong field labels in some of the entries, particulary those for technical
reports. This has been corrected in the update.

For those who have the old version, it can simply be replaced with
Version 2.0 (in file debugger.rfr). Alternatively, one may receive
files which contain only the changes (in file fix.rfr) or the additions
(in file new.rfr) to Version 1.0. The changes listed in fix.rfr include
only changes to the contents of the various refer fields, such as
corrections to page numbers, etc., and do not list the field label
corrections mentioned above.

The bibliography can be retrieved by the following steps:

1. Open a connection to eagle.cnsf.cornell.edu through ftp:

         'ftp eagle.cnsf.cornell.edu'

2.  Log on by entering 'anonymous' at the login name prompt;
any password will be accepted at the password prompt.

3. Issue the change directory command to get to the appropriate
    directory:

        'cd pub'

4. Issue the ftp 'get' command to transfer the desired file. For
example, to get Version 2.0, enter:

'get debugger.rfr.Z' (to transfer the refer version)
or 'get debugger.bib.Z' (to transfer the BIBTEX version)

Again, send me a note if you want to be included in the maillist for
notification of future updates. Please explicitly include an
e-mail address; I have a hard time deciphering where some messages have
come from after our mailer has finished with it! If you think you're
on the maillist, but haven't gotten any mail from me about the refer
version being up, then I may have the wrong address down for you.
