The Computer Science Department at Purdue University is offering a Flexible Computer Corp. machine for sale. This Flex/32 is a MIMD machine with seven processors. Six of the processors have 1 meg of local memory and 1 processor has 4 megs of local memory. The processors are National Semicondutor 32032's. There is also 1.25 megs of shared, global memory on the bus. Two of the processors can control a disk drive (Fuji 2333 swallow), a tape drive (1600 bpi), and terminal ports. The other processors are unable to do I/O and rely on message passing to the other processors. The machine has an Ethernet interface and runs Unix on processor 1. The MMOS operating system is used to handle message passing on the other nodes. If you need further information, please contact me at the e-mail address below.
