Hello, I want to build up a short clear table with informations about the fastest processors/machines (in comparison with parallel systems). I haven't found any comparable overview until now. I propose the following headline for the table (further columns possible): COMPANY MODEL NO_OF_PROC'S PERFORMANCE COSTS FLOPS/US $ (name, address) (e.g. FLOPS) (in US $) Therefore I'm looking for some input. I'll post this call in this news group first. If you have further suggestions for posting in other groups please let me know. I'll summarize your referencies and informations in the resulting table and post it to the news group. Thanks in advance, Bernard +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Bernard Bauer | e-mail: bb@uni-paderborn.de | | University of Paderborn | or: bb@pbinfo.uucp | | FB 17 (Dept. of Math. & CS) | or: ...!uunet!unido!pbinfo!bb | | Warburger Str. 100 | fax: +49 +5251 60 25 19 | | 4790 Paderborn, Germany | voice: +49 +5251 60 33 42 | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+

Jack Dongarra's data would be a good starting point. Mixed in with his supercomputing benchmarks are some parallel processors, and he now has a table of parallel processors alone. To obtain a PostScript copy of the report send mail to netlib@ornl.gov and in the message type: send performance from benchmark As with all benchmarks, read the fine print carefully so you can judge what the numbers mean. -rich enbody@cps.msu.edu
