Greetings. Our group at MIT is very interested in accumulating
information on existing systems for compiler back-end generation from
(serial or parallel) intermediate languages or IL specifications.
Essentially, we are looking for software to help us quickly re-target
an experimental compiler for a variety of architectures. Thus, we are
interested in tools such as GNU RTL that would permit us to define an
abstract machine description that would (at least partially) automate
the construction of a machine-specific back-end.
If you know of any systems that meet this description, or can provide
pointers into relevant literature, we would like to hear from you.
