Since my idea of a personal computer has the power of a VAX/780, I have not studied "low-end" micros. Well, my parents are now planning to by a computer and they asked for advice from the computer expert in the family. What they are looking for is probably in the Apple ][, Commodor 64 range. The exact uses of the machine are not known, but it will not be just for games. The system should be able to support floppys, a modem and a printer. It would be nice if it could be expanded to support a hard disk and if various languages were available. I would be interested in suggestions on what they should or should not buy. Remember that this is for peopel with no computer experience (and price is a factor). And, you guessed it, I will summarize to the net. B.J. decvax!yale-comix!herbison-bj Herbison-BJ@Yale
