[comp.parallel] Clock Synchronization in Not-Completely Connected Networks

pfluegl@copland.eng.uci.edu (Manfred J. Pfluegl) (05/30/91)

A few days ago I asked for references concerning clock synchronization
in not-completely connected networks that are not based on
Byzantine Agreements or authentication.

STRYHANYN@CAL.enst.fr and another person contacted me by email to
ask for a summary. Well, so far I received only 2 responses. I hope
the two helpful persons don't mind my summary here on the net:

Wentong Cai referred me to:
	Ugo De Carlini
"A simple algorithm for CLock Synchronization in Transputer networks"
	Software Practice and Experience
	vo.18, #4, April 1988, p.331-347

Gilbert Harrus referred me to:
	Duda et al.
"Estimation of the global time in distributed systems"
Proceedings of the 7th Int'l Conference on Distr. Computing Systems
	Berlin, Sept. 1987, p.299-306

If you know of any articles that are concerned w/ clock synchronization in
not completely connected networks and do not use Byzantine Agreement,
I'd (and others) appreciate your input. Please post or email.

Thanks a lot in advance, Manfred
