Hey, I hope this group sticks! Let's try to avoid various problems which the much larger comp.sys.amiga group has... specifically, long drawn out religeous wars, inclusion of huge amounts of old text with little to add, and cross posting. If you feel the need to cross post, it doesn't belong in comp.sys.amiga.tech ! And we should try to live up to the group name... <tech> .. technical. If a discussion comes up in comp.sys.amiga and people want to get more technical (deeeeep tech), they should switch over to the tech group. Some people might even do what I will do sometimes... carry on two different conversations at different technical levels on both groups. Since comp.sys.amiga is already pretty technical, many topics normally 'tech', but not too tech, should go to comp.sys.amiga . If this group stays around for another month or two hopefully the technical stuff currently on comp.sys.amiga will drift more over to this group (with a little help from us...) I was also thinking of trying out an experiement. Essentially, I see two types of replies that include old text (ala > or :)... one either has a couple of lines of (>) then his response, or has sequences: A couple lines of (>), a response, a couple lines of (>), a response, etc... For the first case, I'm going to try (to remember to) put my response first, then put the (>) included text at the END of the posting. This way, people who have been following the line of messages doesn't have to deal with re-reading (skipping) all the old stuff. -Matt
