I just saw one of the replies to the home computer query. There was a little miss information there. Namely, that Winchester disk run $3k+. I just ordered a 10 Meg Winy from ASC Associates for $2k. It runs on a Trash-80 Model I. They also sell the drive with interfaces for Model III, S-100, and Apple. I'll let everyone know how well the disk works after I get it, and have given it a few weeks work out. Hard disk prices are droping, and in a year or so, they will be cheap enough that eveyone who has gotten tired of waiting on a floopy will want to go out and buy one. Also note that the new Trash-80 clone from Lobo Drives already has a hard disk interface in it. It runs at 5 MHz and can run CP/M and/or LDOS. And this is for only about $1k. It will be hard to get one since they are selling them faster than they can make them, but you will have to face that on any of the better machines. Indeed, beware of anything that has been sitting on a dealers shelf, there may be a good reason no one has bought it. Richard Piner Physics Dept. Purdue University West Lafayette, IN 47907 P.S. By "better", I mean price/performance ratio, no flames please.
