Steve -- I don't have a V20, but a review in Personal COmputing's Buyers Guide said that the Commo recorder uses the digital waveform directly. That makes the recording circuitry simpler, but the playback more complex. Bottom line is, you would have to add a "sliecer" circuit (zer-crossing detector) to you plain recorder's output, so as to present TTL logic levels (0 or 1) to your Vic. It's a very simple circuit for a HW hacker, but of course nobody's gonna guarantee it will work. Most home computers have the slicer inside, except the original PET, which also used direct digital recording on its built-in casette deck. mike k
