At COMDEX, Novation was showing a new 212A compatible 'smart' modem.
Has anyone out in Info-Micro-land actually gotten delivery on one?
Novation claims to be shipping, but it did not sound as if they were
really ramped up on it yet.

they did not commit any major stupidities like Hayes did in the
SmartModem. Also, they have implemented some truly 'smart' functions
similar to the Ventel modems. Apparently the unit detects dial tone,
remote busy, and remote ringing. And the single unit price is $100
less than Hayes.
The unit sounds great, so it comes down two questions:
1) Is it real? Is Novation really producing?
2) Are there any nasty bits of news they 'forgot' to tell me?
