I am looking for real time compression algoryths for digitized sound. I want to store compressed sound on the disk, and to uncompress it on the fly. The sound quality doesn't have to be very high, since I need it only for speech. the delta compression of IFF isn't good enough. What is the best algorythm for this? C code will be nice, but a book reference will be OK.
