[comp.sys.amiga.tech] 9 heads with the A2090A?

blgardne@esunix.UUCP (Blaine Gardner) (10/30/88)

I've got a short question that only needs a short answer. :-)

Does the A2090A support more than 8 heads?

I know that the A2090 does not, but there was some talk about the
A2090A supporting more than 8. I'd like to know because I've got a
Seagate ST4096 hooked up to my A2090A. Its a fast (28 mS) 80 meg drive
(9 heads, 1024 cylinders, 17 sectors) but with 8 heads I can only use 71
meg. Now with the price I paid for it, 71 meg is still a good deal, but
if I can use that extra 9 meg, I'd sure like to know about it.

(Note that this is a full height drive, so you've got to provide an
external case for it, but the price was right.)
