c Regarding the statement that anybody who [makes, and uses, a facility to release sectors at the end of a file] (enclosure deemed necessary) would then have a program incompatable with the rest of the CPM world: true, but if you use that facility as a convenience, not a necessity, it is an incompatability which could be lived with.
