Never try to get key reports from the keyboard.device when the system has
booted normally and thus the input.device is running.  Sharing these
reports with the input.device means noone knows what's going on.  You *can*
use the keyboard.device command to look at the key matrix without troubling
the rest of the system.

P.S.  Inhibit key repeat by modifying the appropriate keymap, not the global
    key repeat rate.
