After a year of living with my a500 I finally have time to start that hardware project I've been thinking about since day 1. I'd like to build a "flicker fixer" type of device which will take in rgbi data and produce a 16 color non-interlaced 640x400 (704x470) screen. I've only just started seriously thinking about it, but I have a feeling everything will start to fall together if I can figure out how to solve one particular problem. I plan to read data from the digital ports into a shift register and then do parallel loads into a SRAM (well that's the gist of the front end), But how do I know when to clock the data for a given pixel into the shift register? Is there some way the get in sync with whatever clock is used to send out the digital data? Thanks for any info, Bob Bob@uorhep.bitnet rhir_ltd@uhura.cc.rochester.edu
