-- Can we all remember what the intent of comp.sys.amiga.tech is? There have been a lot of postings lately that just aren't technical enough, in a nutshell. For example, this morning I found six messages. Four of them were: Subject: Source for FPIC? Subject: DiamondScan Monitors? Subject: Re: viruses rumors Subject: Trouble with right mouse button Comp.sys.amiga is, after all, a newsgroup about computers, so postings about sources to programs, hardware repairs, and (esp) viruses should go in there. Fortunately, it is still a usable group, without too much discussion of how to find Zelda's Crown, or whatever. Comp.sys.amiga.tech would at its best be an arena for developers or discussion of "developer like" activities. There are some very informative people who have remarked that they probably won't be reading .tech much longer if the situation doesn't improve. These things creep up on us, so let's all make a reassessment of the criteria for initiating (or following up to) a posting in .tech. I think it's been pretty good, and the creeping has been slow. Let's reset back to a strict interpretation, and start creeping once more, ever so slowly. A basic rule: When in doubt, post to comp.sys.amiga, at least for a while. thanks, all. jimm -- Jim Mackraz, I and I Computing "Like you said when we crawled down {cbmvax, well, oliveb}!amiga!jimm from the trees: We're in transition." - Gang of Four Opinions are my own.
