Having come across a supply of second-hand (read used & abused) 41256-15s, which I had little use for, I thought I'd do an A500 owning friend of mine a favour by giving him a 1/2 Meg memory upgrade for the price of an unpopulated expansion board (bought from Datel(?- I think that's their name)). Suffice to say, I did it (hardly a major feat of engineering), and it worked - for a while - then packed up. I'm pretty sure that some of the RAM chips are more than slightly dodgy - which brings me to my question: Can anyone suggest a way of testing the chips - either plugging them one at a time into the board and running some software, or hooking them up to fiendish test gear (I have access to such things - I just can't think of a good way to test DRAM without building $$$$worth of test gear). Any ideas would be appreciated, but please don't assume vast levels of amiga knowledge on my part - the machine is a friends - I only play games on it!
