A fascinating newsletter dealing with small 68000 systems is: DTACK GROUNDED, The Journal of Simple 68000 Systems 1415 E. McFadden, Ste. F Santa Ana CA 92705 US or Canada $15/6 issues, $25 elsewhere. They manufacture cheap 68000 computers, designed to be interfaced to Apples and Pets, and/or anything with enough I/O lines. The prices start at $595 (for an 8mhz 4K system) and go up from there in a zillion configurations to $2.5K for a 12Mhz 192K system. Their viewpoint is refreshing, and their newsletter is fun to read. For free, they will send you a sample newsletter containing their price list and a bunch of quotations from their first twelve issues. They are highly opinionated 68K-Chauvanists. In one issue they refer to the iAPX432 as a "60 foot tall (dead) gorilla." They don't spend much time talking about their own product -- but they do talk about software, and publish short assembly language programs. I guess the only things wrong with them are that they like Basic and don't have a DMA channel on their board. -------

#R:sri-arpa:-22600:uiucdcs:10400029:000:368 uiucdcs!grunwald Dec 31 01:04:00 1982 I used to get their newsletter, but I stoped paying attention to it after about 4-5 issues when it became apparent that they were basically talking about their own product and putting down other peoples products. I didn't find it too useful, but it might worth 20 cents to mail off for a free issue. But to expect to find a storehouse of knowledge about the 68000.
