Something strange happened to me last night. I have an Amiga 1000, 2-Meg Starboard and external disk drive. I did a directory on a (Sony DSDD) disk in the external drive and got a Read/Write error on block 40. I did a diskdoctor and recovered all but one file. This is workbench 1.2!!! I then put the disk in the internal drive and typed: format drive df0: name JUNK <cr> Everything went OK until it reached Formatting 30 Then the disk quit "gronking", the red light on the drive stayed on and the CLI hung. Another CLI showed Task 1 Format still running, but break 1 all had no effect. The status also showed FACC-II which I also run. I finally had to reboot. What's going on here???
