[comp.sys.amiga.tech] 68K interrupt vectors

cire@dustbin.cisco.com (Eric B. Decker) (05/25/89)

Greetings,

I recently obtained Carl Sassenrath's Guru's Guide #1 - Interrupts.
In it I noticed a discussion of the IPL Vector Table which starts at
0xFFFFFFF2. This is where when auto vectoring in the interrupt sequence.
When I read this I went digging through my 68K manuals to see if I
could find where this is talked about. Couldn't find it. Scratch head.
Carl clearly knows what he is talking about. This is weird. So I
put a logic analyzer on my box and sure enough there it was.

Now my question is this: Where is this behaviour of the 68K chips
documented? Also is a similar thing done on 68K20 and the other
beasties?

Whoops a couple of questions.

If you think this is of general interest than reply here otherwise just
send me mail.

thanks,

-c
