The math. dept. at NCSU will purchase a 68000 based
workstation. Our price requirements are that the whole works
cost less than 13k. We need
1. Some communications capability.
2. Fortran
3. (the hard one) A good APL interpreter.
4. At least 256k ram (very important for item 3)
We'd like a hard disk as well if we can afford one.
Has anyone out there used Fortran or APL on a 68000
machine? Which one? What is good or bad about it?
We've found that the Wicat can be made to fit our requirements.
Are there any Wicat users out there? What have been your
experiences with it? We need help on this as we do not want
to get stuck with a turkey.
