I recently purchased a Master 3A external drive for my Amiga 500. (Computability, $139 delivered) I was wondering if anybody had heard anything about this drive? I have gotten several read/write errors from it (different disks) and am wondering if it is really all that compatible, or maybe my disks are cheap? If anybody knows anything about this drive could you please send me e-mail? Thanks a lot! -Andrew p.s. Has anyone else been having trouble with kilowatt? Yes, Master 3A makes errors to disks and sometimes the read/write head stays at track 80, and it don't want to come out. (My friend have a 3A). After we had tryed six times to format another disk, driver started to work again. Really strange..! It's no good to buy this driver, because it makes only trouble. In fact, I have extra drive too, Citizen RF302C, and it has worked like a dream. One time the step motor sticked in track 83.. But in normal user (me? ;^) can't destroy disks with RF like with Master 3A. I don't know, but I think you can find this model from USA too. Here I payed about 900 FIM (about $225.. but here everything is anything but cheap.. there the prise is some $150-..). BTW, how much costs 3.5" disks there in USA? I've been thinking that it will be cheapest if I order 100 disks from there. Here one cheapest disk cost 7 FIM, which means about $1.70. Why didn't I born in USA??!? Sorry about the "language-errors", but I think that my english is better than your finnish.. :^) -- ! /// Juha Tuominen ! Sysop of ! The Amiga Project ! !__ /// Mail: po87553@alva.UUCP ! The !
