Well the program works, but I want to verify a couple things before I send it out. From the GVP documentation, SCSI Block numbers run 1..(whatever) and MountList LowCyl minimum value is 1. All this starts-with-zero/ starts-with-one math works out, but do all hard drive controllers do this? If the GVP controller calculates the first SCSI Block of a partition to be (LowCyl-1) x Surfaces x BlocksPerTrack + 1 [compensating on the LowCyl and adds one at the end to map it to a system where blocks run from 1 to (whatever)] should I assume that they all do this? Do any other controllers have users set their LowCyl to 0 so that the first SCSI Block of a partition is LowCyl x Surfaces x BlocksPerTrack + 1 ? Should I assume that they are all like GVP or should I make it a user-selectable option? -Tom -- Tom Limoncelli -- tlimonce@drunivac.Bitnet -- limonce@pilot.njin.net Drew University -- Box 1060, Madison, NJ -- 201-408-5389 Standard Disclaimer: I am not the mouth-piece of Drew University
