[comp.sys.amiga.tech] AmigaDOS device question.

wade@pnet01.cts.com (Wade Bickel) (06/09/89)

I am working on a set of file and directory utilities to be
incorporated into a file requester. In order to cache multiple directories
I need to be able to associate logical and physical devices.

For instance, if SYS: is assigned to DF0:, I need to be able to
recognize this, so that I can avoid the possiblity of caching SYS: and
DF0: as seperate entities.

One possible solution I can see is to find the root of each logical
device, then compare it against all others for path matches, and then play
with getting locks when matching paths are found. Seems a like there should
be an easier way...

Thanks in advance for any help. Sorry if I'm missing the obvious:^).
