Hello, world! (Just couldn't resist to use that famous phrase ;-) I'm just beginning to working on vector fonts for Amy. Before I get too deep into this work I like to know if anyone has done this before. My plans are to use a fast method of drawing curves to render the fonts, which (of cause) should be compatible with other kinds of vector fonts on other machines. The algorithm is fast because it uses no floats and matrix and is able to draw a curve with a suitable roundness and a suitable roughness. This makes it possible to draw fast and rough (the roughness is acceptable when for example doing FAST animations), or slower and fine and choose how round the curve should be. Does this sound interesting? Has it been done before? My next question concerns file devices, and is dedicated to a friend of mine who is in need of a PC-DOS device. He would like to use this device in AmigaDOS, i.e. be able to mount a PC: device and then be able to use it from CLI and WB. Programs like Dos2Dos works fine, but it can't be used in that way. Is there some PD or SW or commercial program that those this? If it does not exist: Is it hard to write a new trackdisk device? (I guess it is, but you Gurus out there could probably give my friend good advice!) My friends name is Mikael Karlsson and can be reached at micka@slaka.UUCP . |\ /| /// # Michael Jansson | \ / | /// # mij@ida.liu.se | \ / | \\\/// # M-JANSSON@lisbet.liu.se | \/ | \\\/ # AUGS BBS1: +46 13261204 - Plan as you should live for ever, but live as you should die tomorrow.
