[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Screen Blanking

joel@xrtll.UUCP (Joel Abram) (05/09/89)

I have a small question to ask here, I bought my A2000 3 months ago
and so I'm still new to what this computer does.
I'v noticed that if I don't press a key on the computer for 10 min.
the screen will blank untill a key or if the mouse is moved.

This happens when I'm up/downloading and the keys are at rest while
the transfer is in progress.

Is this normal for the computer?

I have an Amiga B2000 with BridgeBoard & sometimes, for no apparent
reason, the entire monitor will go the colour of whatever the background
screen is. The only way I can get back is to soft boot. I don't lose control,
I can still use the command line (I've printed stuff out).

I seem to have narrowed it down to when I have several windows going & perhaps
some other stuff using the screen. I have taken it to my local Commodore
service centre to be checked out for Hardware but they came up with nothing.
I don't think it's H/W because it's alright when I reboot.

Has anyone got some sort of ideas as to what it may be. All advice is greatly
appreciated.

thanx

Sounds like the symptoms exhibited by one of the early viruses.
