[comp.sys.amiga.tech] CrossDos was Serial.Device idea?

a186@mindlink.UUCP (Harvey Taylor) (08/27/89)

In Msg-ID: <800@medsys.UUCP> From: wendell@medsys.UUCP, writes;

[ A bad idea about putting MNP into xxx.device.
  Leave the higher level protocols seperate. ]

  Then interestingly:

| PS. BTW, I got the idea for doing such a project this way after hearing
| that someone had made a IBM<->Amiga disk transfer program the way Dos
| 2 Dos should have done it in the first place. CrossDos is great, and I'll
| probably be sending off for the real version soon...
|
   I agree CrossDos is great, at least the general idea is great. I have not
 tested the implementation. A seperate mfm.device & IBMFileSystem are one
 way to show off the power of AmigaDos.
   Hey Commodore marketing, major SELLING POINT here. Read your IBM data into
 your Amiga just by using the IBM disk name (A: or whatever).
  Course then there's fm.device, grc.device ...

   PS.
   While I'm dreaming, does anybody know if there is support for the middle
   mouse button in 1.4?
