[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Battery Backed Up Clock Problem

tim@mcrware.UUCP (Tim Harris) (08/30/89)

The other day I noticed my clock was all goofed up on my system and I
figured that once again the kids played that elusive game that messes my
clock up occaisionally. I set the date and did a SETCLOCK command and it
waited and waited and came back saying "Battery Backed Clock Not Found".
I re-booted and when the SETCLOCK LOAD is done in startup I also got the
clock not found message. I shut down the system, turned it over and made
sure the A501 card was seated properly, tried again and got the error again.
What gives here? Is my clock battery finally toasted or could this be
a more serious problem. My system is an A500 about 3 years old, maybe more, it
was a very early A500 (I bought it used about 1 year ago). If anyone else
has had this problem or knows what I should do about it I would be very
thankful. In the meantime, I'm setting my clock in startup each time, which
is a real drag but it at least keeps me on time.
	Thanks in advance.
