My father is considering buying either a Morrow Designs Micro Decision or a Kaypro for home text-processing use. He has a considerable amount of text stored on 8" floppies written on a Radio Shack Model II, which he would like to move over to 5.25" floppies on the system he buys. Please mail me any suggestions on how this could be done, on either the Morrow Designs or the Kaypro. Ram Rao American Bell, Indianapolis ...!ihnss!inuxa!ram (317) 845-6968

From: Chuck McManis <MCMANIS@usc-eclc.arpa> The best bet for transferring the files (since floppies are not easily plugged into drives on different manufactures machines) is to take an RS-232 interface on each machine and have them transfer them serially at say 2400 baud (to much faster and you may get character errors). I realize that it is slow for a LOT of data but while you are sleeping they can be copying. --Chuck -------
