I have the new commodore 64 reference manual. This book perports to be all you ever need to program anything on the commodore 64. While I can't vouch for the accuracy of this statement, I can say that a lot of things are contained in the book. Among the information can be found; * user callable machine language routine names and locations * BASIC memory map with interesting I/O locations * file handling information * complete(!) information on the sound and video chips (as in a data sheet for the chip) * pinouts for all the ports * complete schematic diagram * programming information covering BASIC and machine language interface to everything. I can safely say that it would take years to accumulate all this information yourself. The book costs $20 and is not the nicest thing I have ever seen (cheesey plastic binding like the user guide) but the information is probably worth twice the price. It looks accurate (there are at least no spelling errors in the parts I read). Anyway, go and get the manual...Its worth it. Kurt Guntheroth (...decvax!microsoft!fluke!kurt) (...uw-beaver!fluke!kurt)
