[If you can't read this, you've got a line eater.] Ok, hardware guys. Have I got something for you, or what? The story is that I've been trying to connect a Xerox mouse to my Amiga. (Thanks, denber and the rest of you who answered the last time.) Facts: * My original mouse works. * The Xerox mouse works on another Amiga 500. * The Xerox mouse doesn't work on my Amiga 500. Clearly there's something wrong with my machine. The standard answer seems to be the 8250 (or was it 8520?). Any suggestions? I'll do anything to be able to use the Xerox mouse. I'll even consider buying a new machine. That's how good the mouse is. On the same subject, why does everybody construct mechanical mice? The Xerox mouse consists of three LEDs, one chip and two switches. Sounds cheaper to me, and I can tell you that the result is far better that anything else. The Sun mouse doesn't even come close. How about if CBM could take a look some optical mice instead. Still, I must compliment CBM on the Amiga Mouse. Ok, the buttons aren't all that great but I still think it's the smoothest mechanical mouse I know. preThanks Mikael Karlsson, Lovsattersvagen 10, S-585 98 LINKOPING, SWEDEN micke@slaka.UUCP, micke@slaka.sirius.se {mcvax, munnari, seismo}!enea!liuida!slaka!micke C86.M-KARLSSON@LINUS.liu.se
