Background: Old A1000,no halfbrite, 512K memory hack, C Ltd SCSI controller
I'm trying to get LUCAS board working with the above configuration. I've
included the PIXAR hack to LUCAS so I wouldn't have to mess with the sync
problem. LUCAS contains a 20 MHz 020, 16 MHz 881 both running at 20 MHz.
Problem: Hard disk access is characterized by many read errors, consequently
I can't use the hard disk. Everthing works fine from floppy however.
Quite often when reseting Ami, a blue screen appears, but it eventually resets
itself to Kickstart. I've grounded the PALs, even install new PALs from
C Ltd. I even terminated the expansion bus but this caused the inboard floppy
to grunt and growl and not load Kickstart. I also added the hack to extend
AS low period to no avail.
Other than accessing the hard disk everthing works fine with LUCAS installed.
I'm pretty much at a standstill and can't think of anything else to do
except put the thing on a logic analyzer to debug it. If anyone out there
has any tips or insight, I would dearly appreciate the info.
