This is my second time I'm writing about Supra HardDrive speed problems but this time I have more info about this phenomenon to aid you people out there who might just be able to give a full answer. The part of my system that is relevant consists of an A500 with 1MB RAM and a 30MB SupraDrive with Supras SCSI Interface. The software I would like to use should be the latest version, 1.6b, that is. At first, I used 5.1a but due to the fact that a friend of mine got more speed(170k/s) on his SupraDrive with 1.6b, I decided to change to that. Although, this has not given the results that I would like to see, as here are the DiskPerf2 results in a shortened form: File create/del : 9/sec, 17/sec Dir scan: 100/sec Seek/Read: 72/sec r/w: 34721 bytes/sec, 27776 bytes/sec 53407 42625 53362 46125 52254 47953 52958 49813 52780 49932 (with buffers of appx. 260kB) Me and my friend have checked our drive parameters and they should be the same. For more info, here comes: Interleave 3, Pri 0, Buf 30, Type FAST, Trans $FE00, Mask $FFFFFF, Dos $444F5301, Filesystem FFS. I have tried to solve this for a couple of weeks now but seem to be in a dead-end. Any ideas other than selling the drive :-? -- -------------------- -------------------------------------------------- / Antti Kyll|nen / / UUCP: ..uunet!mcsun!tut!oulu!stekt!so-atk / / Tiilitie 17 D 30 / / INTERNET: so-atk@stekt.oulu.fi / / 90650 Oulu / -------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Sweet water and light laughter until next.
