[comp.sys.amiga.tech] How do you jumper a stock NEC FD1035 3.5" floppy drive?

erd@giza.cis.ohio-state.edu (Ethan R Dicks) (10/03/89)

I have aquired a replacement FD1035 drive for a busted A1010, but I
cannot get it to work quite right...

I can read disks, but the drive does not report DISKCHANGE to the Amiga. If
the DISKCHANGE command is entered to the CLI, AmigaDOS responds properly.
Also, the access light comes on during read/write, not while the drive is
spinning. The light flickers during access and is not steadily on.

The real problem is that the old drive is a rev A board and the replacement
a newer revision, so I can't just imitate the original settings. In many
cases, there are jumpers pins on one drive and not the other.

Thanks in advance,
-ethan
