[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Alternatives to Lattice and Aztec?

mfox@hpdml93.HP.COM (Martin Fox) (10/11/89)

I'm thinking of purchasing an Amiga for word processing, hacking, and general
puttering around. In the process I've been looking for C compilers for
the Amiga. The ones I see advertised all the time are, of course, Lattice
and Aztec.

Are there any others? I'm trying to keep the cost of the system down and
am therefore looking for the Turbo C of the Amiga world (Turbo C being a
relatively good, very cheap compiler for the IBM PC world). Am I missing
something? I realize Aztec C is not *that* expensive, but remember, I'm
cheap.

No, there are no other commersial C compilers available for the Amiga.
But some public domain compilers exists. Try to get at them first if
you want to "be cheap".
