[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Question about graphics.library

CJC105@PSUVM.BITNET (Chris) (10/14/89)

I have a simple question about the Amiga graphics library, I couldn't find
a clear answer in the Amiga RKM's.

When using OS routines in the graphics library such as 'BltBitMap' should one
call 'OwnBlitter' first, or will 'BltBitMap' do this for me?

Don't call OwnBlitter first. The only time you need to OwnBlitter is when
you're addressing the hardware blitter registers directly: e.g.
    OwnBlitter()
    WaitBlit()
    <access the hardware bltxxx registers directly>
    DisownBlitter()
