I have a 2 meg memory board which does NOT autoconfigure for my A1000. I want to make it have the functionality of autoconfigure. I know that there are basically 2 approachs: Modify the kickstart, or have a TSR type of program which is executed on reboot.. I have two questions: a. Where can we get info on the kickstart? Aka. where does everything reside? I have done some exploration using a disk editor, but I really need more info. (Yes I do have the info from kickmem, kickplay)) b. How does one go about and write a program which would have the functionality of addmem, only that it sticks around on a reboot, so that it would work with games? I am thinking along the lines of Eric Haberfellner's AFM program for initializing LUCAS/FRANCES memory. There is a program called amf (add memory forever) that does b. You can get it from the kilowatt server, or from the comp.sources.amiga archives. You need aztec c to recompile it (necessary if your memory is not configured the same as the way the program is set up for). It is reasonably clear how to do this. I had some trouble getting it to work, but it seems to work for me now. However, I still can't get my system to reboot from RAD:. Probably I'm doing something wrong. -Fred Gilham gilham@csl.sri.com
