Does anyone know anything about the upcoming Flick-OFF flocker
fixer from MAST?  They say it plugs into the denise socket
on the motherboard, works with the new ECS 1.4 denise chip,
and does all the current FlickerFixer does but through the
Amigas own Db23 video port.  It requires a multisync monitor.
I would sell my FF and buy one since I could then use
the
new 1.4 ECS video modes with 1 cable.
anyone know anything about this product?

	Eh?  I thought that the new denise is supposed to have its own 400-line
noninterlaced mode.  If so, why bother buying a new deinterlacer?  More to the
point, why bother building one that works with the new denise?

The Flick-Off device will deinterlace all video modes, and fill in
scan-line gaps for noninterlaced modes.  The new Denise can only
deinterlace in certain modes with restricted color bandwidth, but it
does have some groovy new capabilities the Flick-Off or flickerFixer
don't have.  I could see wanting both a deinterlacer and the new
Denise in the same machine.

Why bother when the new denise has a 480 line non interlaced mode?
Because some of use still have need for 16 COLOR 640X400+ video.
I know I sure as heck do.  The new mode is only 4 color.

Because 1.4 ECS noninterlaced is limited to 4 colors.  FF lets you display
regular high-res without flicker.
