The description of the apple 2e recently submitted contains a few inaccuracies and unclear points. I just bought a 2e and am very pleased with it, here are the details: Apple 2e, 80 col card, disk, 64K all standard for $1995 Computer World of Oakland are offering it for the same price with a Z80 card and some software for the same price. The extra 64K of memory is rumoured to be on a alternative Apple 80 column card and is accessed using bank switching (that's all I know). Above store said it was $195 additional but knew nothing about it. I would appreciate any further information anyone could give me. The 80 column card does indeed go in an auxiliary slot but this slot thinks that it is slot 3 which is unusable with the 80 col. card in use. LISA Price is $9995 (approx) and there was a rumour at the CPM show that the 68K in LISA only runs at 4MHz (why would they do a thing like that ?). Also seen at the CPM show - a 68000 card for the apple !! This was a regular plug in card with a 8MHz 68000 and 128K of memory (expandable to 512K) which can run either as a stand-alone 68000 system or use the 6502 as an I/O front end or as a co-processor (talk about David and the giant). The introductory price was $1250 and they recommended a more powerful power supply and a fan. This price included a UCSD p-system operating system, BASIC, FORTRAN-77 and Pascal compilers! They also said that soon a CP/M system, Applesoft basic (yech) and UNIDOS (v7 UNIX compatible) will be available. They call the card a SAYBROOK, if anyone has one I'd like to hear their views on it. What a toy to have! This was available (now I think) from : Analytical Engines Inc. 3415 Greystone Austin, Texas 78731 Bob Palin teklabs!zehntel!varian!vaxwaller!bob
