I received several responses to my question about the Commodore 64 display quality, as well as several about VIC 20 display quality. Two people said that they had no problems with the display, using SONY and Mitsubushi sets. Two others said they saw poor quality on SONY sets. One person commented that the XXX seemed to be the culprit - causing the poor display quality by picking up noise from the environment or the 6502 in the machine. In my own observations, I have only seen a good quality of display once - on a color monitor, separated from other high frequency sources by yards. In typical store displays, with a number of other types of units right beside a VIC 20, the display was always nearly wiped out by snow and interference patterns. Tom Craver houti!trc
