I've bought a SideCar for my A500 with a 60MByte harddisk in it (20MByte for the SideCar and 40MByte for the A500). Everthing worked fine until I connected a bus-extension-cabel (selfmade, about 10 cm long) between the SideCar and the A500. With this cabel the A500 isn't able to mount the harddisk (ERROR: couldn't find JANUS library). Is there anybody who has heard about such problems ? Martin Burkhardt West Germany

This is a very interesting posting. I'm impressed that a Sidecar works at all with an A500. Inside the Sidecar is a header for a memory card to be plugged in (which never got produced), which is directly on the Amiga bus. The same fixes for bus noise etc. which were suggested for the LUCAS 68020 board installation in tha A1000 would probably work here. Basically this involves a termination network on some of the Amiga bus lines. I'm interested to hear the results, since I'm about to start a Sidecar hacking project to work with the LUCAS board, if that's possible, so I want to hear *any* related experiences. Cheers, -- .::.
