Some more Info requested on INTEL 86/380

We are considering the following system configura-
tion. Your comments on suitability and prices would be much
appreciated. Thanks to all who responded to my earlier
          enquiry.

quantity model description catalogue # quoted price

           1 86/380 CPU (11 slots) SYS-380A-AR-KIT 24-30K

           1 Fortran Option iRMX-862 4.2K

           1 Serial Expansion SDX-351 0.23K

           2 8088-40 SBC 32K ROM, 4K RAM SBC-8088/40 4K

           2 ROM Expander
                            (32K to 64K) SBC-341 0.3K

           1 Cursor Control
                                CRT WYSE-200 1K

           2 Cursor Control
                                CRT LEAR-SEIGLER ADM-22 1.2K

           1 Character Printer MPI-99 0.7K

           2 Analog-terminators
                                16-channels ICS-910 (Intel) 0.39K

           2 Digital-terminator
                                16-channels ICS-930 0.38K

The total cost is about 44K. What we would like is
some reduction in the overall cost. We would consider sub-
stituting cheaper components or even deleting some from
the above list if the reasons warrant such an action. For
example, we are buying the Fortran option because, 86/380
comes with a Winchester disk drive which we don't really
need. If we could replace it with cheaper floppy disks
with less memory then we would drop the fortran and save
ourselves 4.2K. Is it possible at all to buy 86/380
without the disk drive ? We would also consider buying
cheaper terminals provided they have the cursor control
capability. Same applies for the printer: all we need is a
printer that can print readable characters.

The system we have in mind is a supervisor (86/380)
that would monitor various devices ( analog and digital )
and issue control commands to controllers (8088-40) and
maintain equilibrium. ( We considered 380 instead of 330
to allow for future expansions )

Thanks in advance for your information.
