Position information for each icon's image is kept in that icon. That's why when you select a bunch of icons and do a Snapshot you get all that disk activity. Workbench has to find and update all those info files. The special .info file starts with F34C0012, then a date stamp (3 longwords), and then the names of the icons in the drawer, each terminated with a linefeed.
